Alan Sellwood has been instrumental in organising away days at Ampfield Golf Club for the last 7 years, holding 1 or 2 competitions each year at this impressive par 3 golf course near Romsey. The first competition for the new Alan Sellwood Trophy was held on 28 September and the winner was Roger Stevens. Picture shows Alan (right) presenting the trophy to Roger
David Willis' remarkable 40 points secured victory in this stableford, and a sizeable handicap cut. Two others players with sub-par scores pressed hard but failed to dislodge David who had a nett ace on the ninth earning 4 Points.
The team of Hector James (3) and Michael Ayling (17) were victorious in the annual Brian White Pairs competition. Their team’s gross score of 58, reduced by their combined handicap of 9 (nett 49) led the field by 2 shots.
