![]() After a 7-day weather postponement of this 36-hole trophy competition, round 1 was played on 11 November. Again, seven days later, weather forced a further delay to the start of round 2. The weather did not deter Robin Welland who took 7 shots off his first-round score to tie for the overall lead with Richard Moseley. On count-back Robin was awarded the victory by virtue of his better second round score. THE RESULT
Simon Dewhurst's 3-under par and 3 shots clear of the field easily won the medal section of this dual competition. While playing the medal, players earn a "star" each time their tee-shot lands on the green. Roger Stevens won this section by accumulating 7 stars. Click any image to zoom
Alan Sellwood has been instrumental in organising away days at Ampfield Golf Club for the last 7 years, holding 1 or 2 competitions each year at this impressive par 3 golf course near Romsey. The first competition for the new Alan Sellwood Trophy was held on 28 September and the winner was Roger Stevens. Picture shows Alan (right) presenting the trophy to Roger
David Willis' remarkable 40 points secured victory in this stableford, and a sizeable handicap cut. Two others players with sub-par scores pressed hard but failed to dislodge David who had a nett ace on the ninth earning 4 Points.
