The "casino" in Casino Medal requires players to "gamble" on playing well on 3 pre-selected holes. Gross scores on those holes are halved, half strokes are allowed. Total gross scores are rounded down, if necessary, before handicaps are applied to produce a nett medal score. The course revised par in this format is 49.5, rounded down to 49.
67% of entrants equalled or beat this adjusted par, the best was Peter Merry's 4-under par on 45.

Away Day at Ampfield

17/5/2022

17 members of the Club were rewarded with fine sunny conditions for their “away-day” at Ampfield Golf Club, nr. Romsey on Tuesday 17 May, courtesy of Alan Sellwood who kindly arranged the visit.
Ampfield is one of the finest par 3 courses in the South of England and it is a great pleasure to play on such a fine but taxing course.
The day’s golf was arranged as a pairs competition with the highest handicap player paired with the lowest handicap player and so on to give some equality to the pairings.
The main competition was won by the pairing of Hector James and Peter Merry who came home with a nett score of 126 beating close rivals Roger Stevens and Lionel Whyton on 128.
