Round 2 of this 36-hole Autumn Cup competition was completed on 13 November with 4 players vying for the lead. 3 players finished with a 111 total, Richard Moseley's 1-over- par 109 stole the day.
After a week's postponement because of weather conditions, a record field entry challenged for the Summer Trophy. Nearly half the entrants equally or bettered a net par score, but none was better than Paul Field’s remarkable 5-under par 49.
A net eagle on hole 2 and 4 birdies were countered by a sole bogie on his card. , Following his 7-under par victory last week, Colin Ayling put in a shattering 6-under par performance again to return a winning 42 point score in this annual event.
His handicap has tumbled by 3.2 shots in 2 weeks. He was geatly assisted in this feat by a hole-in-one on the 3rd green. Click/tap any image to enlarge it. The 2021 New Year Chalice was re-scheduled from January due to the Covid restrictions.
Simon Dewhurst's net 4-under par score led in the clubhouse until Tom Smith's 7-under par swept the board to win the 2021 New Year Chalice. His card included one net eagle and 6 birdies, with only 1 dropped shot. This annual medal competition celebrates the founding of the club in 2014. The shield this year was awarded to Richard Moseley with a score of 1-under par.
Two other players, Stuart Allen and Alan Sellwood, returned similar scores, but Richard was declared the winner after the countback rule was employed. |
