A Quota competition is a form of stableford where points are allocated based on the gross score on each hole. A player's handicap is added to the total points to determine his Quota.
Peter Merry's net score of 53 earned him 28 stableford points. When his handicap of 10 was added, his quota of 38 gave him a clear lead.
The suspicion that the high handicappers would have an advantage was disproven when the shortest handicapper, Roger Stevens, Hcap 3, stole the show.
This competition combined a medal round and a count of the number of greens reached in regulation (stars).
It was a remarkable performance by Colin Ayling that won the medal with a net score of 7-under par, 5 shots ahead of his nearest rival. It earned him a substantial handicap cut that might be hard to live with.
Roger Stevens, once again, proved to be the most accuate, landing his ball 8 times on the green in regulation (stars)
Robin Walsh salvaged a lack-lustre round with a hole-in-one on the 3rd Hole.
